Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Facility Tour

The Conservative Climate Foundation hosted a site visit to Constellation’s Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Facility in Lusby, Maryland. Two dozen congressional staff and CCF supporters joined the tour to learn how Constellation is producing carbon-free energy to power homes and communities just an hour and a half outside of Washington, D.C.!

Calvert Cliffs has two operating units with 1,790 MW of generation capacity – enough to power more than 1.3 million homes! Located along the Chesapeake Bay, the facility is focused on providing a safe and environmentally-friendly workplace for the 700+ full-time employees and local wildlife.

Nuclear energy is a clean, baseload resource we can use to power the future and meet rising energy demand. Because facilities like Calvert Cliffs run 24/7, they can provide reliable energy to families and businesses in Maryland and the surrounding area, just as they have been doing for the last 50 years.
